Tire Changing Machine: A Good Long-Time Investment

!±8± Tire Changing Machine: A Good Long-Time Investment

Vehicle owners are used to depend on their trusted auto-mechanic for changing and balancing tires and thought that buying their very own tire changing machine is not practical at all. Bur if one actually analyze and think things over, he will realized that owning the right tools is more practical in the long run, especially if he owns several vehicles like bicycle, motorcycle, car, van and/or truck.

A basic manual tire changers can cost a few dollars to hundred dollars depending on the brand; a price way cheaper and practical compare to the service fees of various auto-mechanic shops. You can use this to manually dismount and mount the tire from the rim and completely change your flat or old tires. You can bring this along everyday or during a road trip that way you are prepared in case of tire emergency.

However, if you hate manual labor and getting your hands dirty and you want faster way to change your tires it is more convenient to buy semi-automatic or fully automatic tire machines. These types of changing machines can cost you a few thousand dollars depending on size, brand and functions. This amount may sound pricey but think of it as your one-time big-time investment that you can use for a very long time. But make sure to find the best deal as not to waste your hard earned money.

Tire changers are very helpful and efficient especially if you educate yourself about it's every uses and components. A semi or fully automatic tire changing machine has 5 basic components; the foot pedals, table top/rim clamps, dismounting/mounting mechanism, beading loosening system and the air pressure system.

Most tire changers have two foot pedals; each pedal controls different parts of the machine. The right foot pedal controls the rotation of the table top. When the pedal is pressed the table top spins clockwise and when the pedal is raised the table tops spins counter clockwise. On the other hand the left foot pedal controls the rim clamps; it closes and opens the clamps at the same time. The table top/rim clamps are used to hold the tire and rotate it so it can be dismounted or mounted safely. Conversely, the mounting/ dismounting mechanism is used to dismount and/or mount the tires from the vehicle. It is consist of the vertical slide, duckhead and swing arm. The bead loosening system on the other hand is used to loosen the tire beads from the rim. This system is located in the right side of the tire machine. Finally, is the air pressure system of the tire changing machine is used to inflate tires. It is consist of four different parts: the air hose, gauge, manual pressure valve and the inflation pedal.

Tire changing machines come in different types for different wheel sizes like the motorcycle tire changer, light tire changer and the heavy duty tire changer. So you must buy machines that are appropriate for your vehicle; if you own a motorcycle or a car, don't buy a heavy duty tire changer. If you are looking for quality tire changers don't compromise functions just because you want to save several dollars. You might want to choose from the top three brands of machines: Corghi, COATS and Hunter.
